Photo Restoration |
______________ |
Photo restoration is the process of digitally correcting flaws of an old or worn
photograph. Often, these photos contain scratches, are faded, or, contain unwanted
objects. Through the magic of Photoshop, these flaws can be completely removed
and the photo can be enhanced. Adjustments might include : color correction,
contrast correction, sharpening, removal of scratches and blotches, removal of
unwanted objects, grain reduction, reduction of fading, and conversion from color
to either sepia tone or black and white. I can also recrop the photo, resize
it, and add borders. The photo should be sent to me via e-mail in it's actual size .... or, shipped to me. For e-mail service, do a highest quality scan of the photo and save it as a Jpeg, Tiff, or Psp file and then e-mail it to : onnatureswing@cox.net If providing me with a print, send it via USPS to : "On Nature's Wing PO Box 1503 Coventry, RI 02816 Please include your full name, mailing address, and e-mail address along with a scanned copy of the original It is advisable that you scan your original in high resolution and send that rather than sending me the original photo. In addition to the photo, a brief description of your desired result, your full name, phone (if in the USA) and a working e-mail address will be needed. I may then contact you personally to discuss the photo in question. I can then begin the process of restoration. |

Things to Consider |
1) Badly damaged photos take more time to restore and the result is not perfection. 2) Full sized image will give the best results. E-mail me the photo in it's original size if possible. Resizing to a larger size is not recommended as this will cause degradation. 3) Scanned or e-mailed photos should be sent at a resolution of @ 300 for best results. 4) Color photos can be changed to sepia tone or to black and white but, I cannot change a black and white or sepia photo to a color version. |
